Why we built Field Efficient, and how it's changing the way tradies work

The problem we kept hearing about

Working closely with technicians, engineers, site managers, sole traders and sparkies, we kept hearing the same questions: how do I capture test results easily? Is there a simple way to validate them? Can I create reports with my own branding?

There were existing solutions, such as testers with built-in software, but they came with real limitations. They were expensive, they didn't work across different equipment brands, and they often needed separate software for each device. Many also lacked basics that modern tradespeople need, like audit trails, GPS location and cloud backup. Some users even lost entire sets of test results when a device's memory failed.

It was clear the industry needed something better.

The built-in verification engine checks your readings against the relevant AS/NZS requirements as you capture them, so you can have confidence in every result.

Add your own custom fields to match the way you test, and generate fully branded, customisable reports with signatures, audit trails and a clear paper trail, ready to send straight to your clients.

Asset management and reminders

Keep track of your equipment with built-in asset management, including calibration expiry reminders and retest due dates, to help you stay on top of AS/NZS standard requirements.

• Tag creation and printing: create and print tags on the spot, then scan them to pull up the record on repeat jobs.
• Switchboard AI capture: photograph the board and start the job without typing out every circuit.
• QR code door cards: streamline recurring testing with scannable door cards.
• Team access and job sharing: assign jobs to specific technicians, control what they see, and pre-fill details from the office before they arrive on site.
• GPS location: tests can be tagged with a GPS location at the moment you record them.
• Third-party integrations: import clients from Xero and jobs from a supported job-management app, then create draft invoices and send them straight to Xero.
• Direct tester integration: readings come straight from your tester, filling in and validating your test card automatically.
• Recall and edit with an audit trail: make changes to approved results with full traceability. Every edit is recorded, so nothing goes unnoticed.

Built for phones, not spreadsheets

A lot of testing software still asks you to fill in an Excel-style table, which is clunky on a phone. Field Efficient takes a different approach: a modern, intuitive interface with a test card for each circuit, so it works the way you already use the apps on your phone.
